Privacy policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This policy explains how HNU ECOM DEVELOPMENT LLC, trading as Harry Mayfair, processes personal information when you visit https://harry-mayfair.co.uk, use our services or contact us. We are the controller for the store processing described here. Shopify hosts the store and may also act as a separate controller for its own services.

Information we process and its sources

Depending on your interactions, this may include contact and delivery details; billing and transaction information; account credentials and preferences; order, return and exchange history; messages; device, browser, IP address and usage information. Payment providers process card details through checkout. Do not send full card numbers, passwords or security codes by email.

Information comes directly from you, automatically through the website and permitted cookies, and from service providers or partners involved in transactions and store operation.

Purposes and lawful bases

  • Contract: processing orders and payments, delivery, accounts, returns and customer support needed for your purchase.
  • Legal obligation: required accounting, tax, regulatory records and responses to valid legal requests.
  • Legitimate interests: proportionate security, fraud prevention, service administration, dispute handling and improvements that do not override your rights.
  • Consent: non-essential cookies and marketing where consent is required. Where permitted, marketing to existing customers about similar products may use the applicable lawful basis and opt-out rules. You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Essential technologies support cart, checkout and security. Where analytics, personalised advertising or other non-essential technologies are enabled, they are used only with consent where required. Use the cookie controls shown on the site and your browser settings to manage choices. Marketing preferences do not prevent necessary transactional communications.

Sharing

We share information as needed with Shopify, payment processors, IT and storage providers, customer-support services, suppliers and carriers fulfilling orders. Where enabled and lawfully permitted, analytics and marketing partners may receive relevant information. We may disclose information with your instructions, to comply with law, protect rights or security, or in a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards. Public reviews and other public submissions may be visible to others.

Shopify

Shopify processes information to operate and improve its services. Where enhanced Shopify services are enabled and legally permitted, Shopify may use information from interactions with this and other merchants as a separate controller. Read Shopify’s consumer privacy policy and use Shopify’s privacy portal for information and relevant rights.

International transfers

Our operator is based in the United States and providers may process data outside the UK. Where UK transfer restrictions apply, transfers require applicable safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual protections including the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum where relevant. Contact us for information about applicable safeguards and how to obtain a copy. We do not claim every recipient or destination has an adequacy decision.

Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including account operation, fulfilment, statutory records, dispute handling and legal claims. Retention depends on record type, legal requirements and relevant limitation periods. Consent and marketing-preference records may be retained to demonstrate and respect your choices. Contact us for information about a particular record. We use appropriate security measures, but no system or transmission is completely secure.

Your rights

Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent. You may object to direct marketing at any time. Contact us using the details below. We may reasonably verify identity, and an authorised representative may need proof of authority. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions and exceptions. We will not penalise you for exercising your rights.

Complaints

Contact us first with privacy concerns. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, without first exhausting our complaints process. Where other data-protection laws apply, you retain the relevant local complaint rights.

Children and third-party sites

Our services are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect children’s data for that purpose. A parent or guardian may contact us about data supplied by a child. External sites have their own privacy notices and security practices; check them before providing information.

Changes

We may update this notice to reflect our services and legal requirements, publish the revised date and provide further notice where required.
